Hey, there!

Hope you all are safe and sound! The whole world has a new normal of social distancing, masks and frequent hand washes but as a mother of a toddler, I am already adapted this new normal of staying indoors and being a little extra with hygiene. The pandemic has taught us to hold on to what we love and let go of the thoughts that dim our light. I always wanted to learn a lot of new things that the world catching up to during this lockdown, but couldn’t due to lack of time or I was simply too exhausted to do something out of the little time I got for myself. However, if there is one thing that I’ve really been into, the last couple of years, it would be Skincare.

Indian skincare brands have surprisingly taken the beauty industry by storm with customized formulations that address specific skin concerns and sustainable packaging where the world is going to. One such brand I am featuring in this very post is Deyga Organics, an organic skincare brand by Arthi Raguram. I picked up a few products from the range for Aki and me. It would only take a few minutes to read through my experience with the products, so hang in there!

Deyga Aloe Vera Gel

Ever since I got to know about how artificial fragrance and colours are added to skincare products, I’ve completely avoided using them. The heavily scented and colourful looking products appease me no more. I have combination and sensitive skin which tends to show little white bumps and acne frequently. I always look for ingredients that would feel soothing on the skin at the same time moisturize it. Deyga aloe vera gel is a great addition to my skincare routine as it comes in a pure form. Gliding on foundation or BB cream is a delight after using this aloe gel on my face.

The following are the ingredients of the aloe vera gel,

  • Aloe barbadensis (Cold-pressed)
  • Aloe vera extract
  • Aloe hydrosol

Texture: The aloe vera gel has a clear texture with no added colours.

Fragrance: There are no artificial fragrances added to the gel which is why you must try this!

Price: 350 INR for 100g

Shelf-life: 6 months

This extremely hydrating gel suits all skin types. It is safe to be used by anyone. Dry-skinned beauties may layer add an extra nourishing moisturizer along with this. I always use it along with a facial oil for the glow.

Deyga Vanilla Dust Powder (Talc Free)

I love dusting powders and talc-free ones are pure love! Deyga vanilla dust powder has a wonderful aroma of vanilla sourced from Coorg. It is quite different from the usual vanilla aroma we are used to but in a good way. I simply love my home smelling of calming vanilla when I used this dusting powder. Every day workouts mean sweat and body odour which is a big NO for me. So, I layer it along with deodorant for a lasting effect.

The contents of the dusting powder is listed below.

  • Organic arrowroot powder
  • Kaolin clay
  • Corn starch powder
  • Vanilla powder
  • Olive oil
  • Vanilla essential oil

Texture: The talc is finely milled has heavier particles, unlike other talcum powders that your lungs hate!

Fragrance: Coorgi vanilla

Price: 600 INR for 100 g

Shelf-life: 8 months

Deyga Rose and Mulethi Face Pack

The Rose and Mulethi face pack is one of their best-sellers and after using it on myself, I can say that it is an amazing product. I use it a face cleanser, scrub and face pack as it serves all three purposes. It has a loosely bound texture however the ingredients are well ground without any lumps. All you need to do it add a few drops of milk or rose water or plain water to a spoonful of face pack and apply it all over the face and neck. It may not cover the entire face like the other face packs do, but try applying it to the maximum area of the skin. After 4-5 minutes, spray some water on the face and scrub it in a circular motion. Rinse off, pat dry and you are good to go! My skin felt so clear and smooth after using this product.

The awesome ingredients in this face pack are given below.

  • Native rose grains
  • Mulethi
  • Oat meal
  • Skin cherishing essential oils. I am not sure why it is not being disclosed. So, will contact them and update this soon!

Texture: It has a fluffed-up grainy texture that resembles husk hence do not expect a smooth application like most other face packs.

Fragrance: A prominent aroma of dried rose petals.

Price: 490 INR for 200 grams

Shelf-life: 8 months

The eco-friendly packaging of this face pack deserves appreciation. I’ve already kept the outer box for storing knick-knacks.

Deyga Baby Massage Oil

Aki and I enjoy giggling over a nice oil massage before bath. I’ve always used sesame oil, almond oil and extra virgin coconut oil or a mix of oils for him but I always wanted a massage oil that has already done the job of mixing the ‘good’ oils. Deyga Baby Massage Oil comes in a simple and travel-friendly packaging with a flip cap. It has a mix of these ingredients in it,

  • Organic Sesame oil
  • Organic Jojoba oil
  • Cold pressed Almond oil
  • Calendula oil

Texture: Easily absorbed and light-weight

Fragrance: Petrichor! Literally! <3

Price: 1150 INR for 250 ml

Shelf-life: 8 months

I am quite happy with all the products from this brand but my personal favorite is the Rose and Mulethi Face Pack. The one thing that intrigued me about the brand is that the products have a really less shelf-life. I completely understand that their not using preservatives and the organic ingredients makes it less long-lasting. However, I wish it was atleast 18 to 24 months so that it didn’t hurt to see a product no longer fit to use in just 6-8 months!
