Hello All !
We all have our favorite holiday spots, but only a few places leave an impact on our minds. Himachal Pradesh is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva in the beautiful, snow-clad ranges of Himalayas. This place is known for its picture-perfect locations and awesome climate throughout the year. While most of us have visited most famous holiday destinations like Shimla, Mussouri, Kullu, Manali, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, etc., there are many unexplored places in Himachal, where nature has exquisite surprises stored in for us! One such place is Murdali, located approx 3 kilometers from Nurpur, Himachal Pradesh.
Driving through tough mountain roads and walking down for another half an hour through local agricultural farms, we saw rock-cut stairs to reach Murdali. Climbing down the stairs, I was expecting a regular waterfall like setup. But we were totally in for a surprise when we saw the scene.
There was something in this place that was willing to take all my flaws 🙂 The water here is said to possess magical healing properties.
There is an ancient shrine of an Indian Goddess and a cooking place, where “Langar”, food served in temples, is cooked during special occasions. The board beside the shrine said that photography is prohibited and I obeyed it 🙂 It is believed that taking a dip in this holy water, prevents unexplained miscarriages and other fertility related problems in a women. It is said that it a must for women to be accompanied by a male while visiting the place, though I do not actually know the reason behind this!
Anyways, I am glad that I had a chance to visit this beautiful place, hidden from the limelight yet 🙂
I hope you felt a mild Himalayan breeze while reading this 😉 Mark it to your places-to-visit-before-you-die list and make this place famous!
